We’ve been working on a plan for expansion outside of malls into communities around Baltimore and there was no better place to start than in the community where I grew up.

Owings Mills, Maryland (PRWEB) April 27, 2015

The Great Cookie (TGC Foods, Inc.), a popular Baltimore, Maryland based cookie company, today announced the grand opening of it’s new cookie store in Liberty Court shopping center at 8628 Liberty Rd, Randallstown, MD 21133. The large modern store features the entire line of fresh baked “The Great Cookie” brand cookies including more than 15 cookie flavors as well as custom message cookie cakes, pastries, soft serve ice cream, fresh brewed coffee, Icee® drinks and other beverages.

Jason Fruman, President of The Great Cookie states, “I grew up two blocks from this location. We’ve been working on a plan for expansion outside of malls into communities around Baltimore and there was no better place to start than in the community where I grew up. We’ve been humbled by the number of customers that have come in since our soft opening and how happy they are to have us in the community. It is great to be back in the neighborhood.”

The new Liberty Court store will host the official grand opening celebration on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 12 p.m. and the company will be giving away free Baltimore orange Great Cookie t-shirts to the first 500 paying customers as well as random drawings for free cookies throughout the day.
The new location will also handle baking and fulfillment for the company’s expanding eCommerce and corporate business. The company now ships fresh baked cookies and cookie cakes all over the country and is partnering with companies that use customizable cookie tins for sales and marketing support.

“We were growing out of our previous location as the eCommerce and corporate business is expanding. The Liberty Court location is much larger than a typical Great Cookie store and we are leveraging the additional footprint to bake and ship our large volume orders in addition to operating the community based retail store", says Jaime Elwood, Director of Business Development & eCommerce.

The company plans to use the new community based store as a test for possible expansion into other Baltimore area communities and plans to rollout other in-store sales concepts such as birthday parties for children and fundraisers supporting local schools and businesses in the community.
The new store will also be the home base for the company’s mobile cookie trucks which frequent both public and private food truck and special events within communities in the Baltimore metro area. The truck may also be booked for school or non-profit fundraisers.

Jason Fruman, President was recently appointed as Treasurer to the Maryland Mobile Food Vending Association (MDMFVA) which plans to be a positive influence in the community. The MDMFVA aims to provide outstanding service and ensure food trucks are operating as good citizens in Maryland as well as advocate on behalf of food trucks with local and state governments.
